Curriculum Vitae of Mohammad Reza Rashidnia, Head Coach of the Macau National Karate Team:

Sensei Rashid Nia, please briefly tell us about your track record

On August 17, 2002, I arrived in Macau at the invitation of the former president of the Macau Karate Federation to lead the national team in preparation for the Asian Games in Busan, South Korea (in August of that year). I successfully secured three out of the four total medals earned by the delegation sent to South Korea.

I would like to share some of my achievements during my tenure as the head coach of the Macau national karate team, which were the result of a collective team effort.

In six different Asian Games (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2023), Macau earned a total of fourteen medals: four silver and ten bronze. Macau ranks fourteenth among all Asian countries in the Asian Games ranking, higher than Hong Kong, South Korea, the Philippines, and others (Link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karate_at_the_Asian_Games (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karate_at_the_Asian_Games)).

At the East Asian Games in Macau (2005), we won two gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals. At the East Asian Games in China (2013), we secured one gold medal, one silver medal, and five bronze medals.

Throughout all categories and editions of the Asian Championships, we obtained a total of 30 silver and bronze medals. We achieved the first gold medal in the Chinese National Games in the youth category, and the first bronze medal for adults in Macau’s history at the Chinese National Games was also obtained through our efforts.

We have also won numerous medals in prestigious international competitions, including the East Asian Karate Championships and other prominent international tournaments in Malaysia, Japan, China, and more, totaling over one hundred and fifty medals.

I was selected as the best coach of Macau five times in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017. In 2007, I received a government certificate of honor from the honorable Chief Executive of Macau.

It is important to note that, including the years I coached the Iranian national karate team, I have participated in over twenty editions of both the Asian Championships and the World Championships. This experience (gained through participation in various events) came at a significant cost to our country, Macau, and I have worked diligently to achieve the results mentioned for Macau.

My latest success at the Asian Games was in 2023 in China, where I earned two valuable silver medals in individual kata and team kata.
